A Family-Run Campsite
In 2021, we took over Houstrup Camping and transformed it into a lively campsite where nature and facilities go hand in hand. That same year, we expanded with Tipperne Camping – a small gem where peace and quiet take center stage.
However, our camping adventure began much earlier in 2001, when Helle and Jari purchased Nymindegab Familie Camping. Their daughters, Anne and Sofie, grew up with camping close at hand, and although Anne once said, “Never a campsite,” camping life eventually had its hold on her. Today, the family – Helle, Jari, Anne, and her husband Mikkel – manages all three campsites together.
“When the outdoors feels as good as home” isn’t just our slogan – it’s our approach to running the campsites. With each of us bringing our own strengths, we develop the campsites while preserving their unique character. At Houstrup, activity meets nature, Nymindegab offers family-friendly facilities, and at Tipperne, you’ll find peace to slow down.

Social Responsibility – We Believe in People
As a family-run campsite, we know it’s the people who make the difference. That’s why it’s natural for us to be part of Code of Care Varde, where, together with other local businesses, we create space for people with different challenges.
In 2024, we have four social employments, which not only enrich our workplace but also create value for the entire community. It’s about making room for diversity and believing that everyone has something to contribute.
In cooperation with Jobcenter Varde, we are focused on creating meaningful jobs. This has earned us the GROW Social Sustainability Certificate – a recognition we are proud of, but above all, we are proud to make a difference in our local community.
Through our four social employments in 2024, we’ve created a social value for the community of 478,950 DKK.

We Are Green Camping Certified
We are proud to have received Green Camping certification – a recognition of our sustainability efforts at the campsite. This means that we meet strict environmental requirements and are constantly working to reduce our impact on nature.
From our new waste sorting system to our focus on energy consumption, we make an active effort for the environment. As our guest, you are also contributing to the green transition – together, we make camping more sustainable.
Welcome to Houstrup Camping – Where the Outdoors Feels Like Home
Nestled near Blåbjerg Klitplantage, our family-owned campsite offers a peaceful retreat in West Jutland, where nature is right at your doorstep. Enjoy both activity and relaxation—swim in our 27°C heated pool (June–September) or try winter bathing.
